Every year or so I have a brief and heated love affair with James Taylor. It usually starts by hearing Fire and Rain on the radio — quickly escalating to me singing along (note perfect) in the car with Country Road at full blast— much to the chagrin of anyone in the vehicle. 🚙
For the past few weeks I’ve had Taylor’s 1975 classic “Gorilla” on heavy rotation.
Gorilla has three monster smash bangers 💥 :
Gorilla is 39 minutes long. It’s post-heroin Taylor. It’s clean. It’s fun — and it most certainly deserves a critical re-evaluation.
It pairs best with sitting barefoot outside at sunset. OR wearing a white linen suit on the beach. Give it a try! ☀️
