The world is anxious, and rightfully so. We’ve found ourselves in a position of powerlessness - staring into the abyss of uncertainty. Humans don’t typically like uncertainty, nor do they thrive without their patterns, sense of normalcy or control. But I ain’t telling you anything new.
While we all flail around in the pool of despair and uneasy it may be useful to reach for a buoy, or one of those colorful floaty noodles. For me that lifeline is Thich Nhat Hanh. For those not in the know, TNH is one of those multi hyphenates - Zen master, Buddhist Monk, spiritual leader, Poet, peace activist and best selling author.
Thich is an amazing teacher, but his real gift is his ability to synthesize Eastern philosophy for the instant-karma heads of the West. His books are short, clear, and concise. For me, the act of reading one is a meditation in and of itself. His writing is often repetitive but in that mantra type of way. In short, his writing will calm you and remind you that yes, you are here, and that is good.
While his catalog of over one hundred books can be a bit daunting, you can totally jump in anywhere and find some solace. I will recommend a few of my favorites below, but remember - breathe deep. Stillness is the move.
If you are in the mood to jump into the deep end, dial up this 45 minute guided meditation. It’s a can’t miss way to self soothe.
I appreciate your continued support. Feel free to send this newsletter to someone in your life who needs to take a beat. As always, feel free to send me an email. I love the medium.

Miracle of Mindfulness was the first book I ever read on mindfulness practice, yet it’s still top notch to revisit over the years. Always love the weekend guide posts!
