Let’s say I tell you a secret, something so awful that I’ve never even told it to myself, but then you have to confide something just as horrible to me, something that would destroy your life if anyone came to know it.
Sounds extreme. It is. Sometimes, in a relationship, the stakes are high. Trust is a novel that explores the idea of the self, the world we build, our place in that world - and how fast that precious globe, placed carefully on the mantle, can be picked up and slammed to the floor. Shattering into thousands of pieces. Once in awhile it’s fun to break something.
