Weekend Guide: 09.11.2020
Looking at September 11 on a calendar will always make me feel something. That morning is still one of the only crystal clear memories I have from childhood. After being sent home from school I sat alone in my room and watched the events unfold, only about 40 miles away, via MTV, on a 13 inch tv on the floor of my room.
19 years later, that day feels millions of miles away. I hope my perception of time continues to move slowly. I fear the feeling of a sudden passage of time - passively looking at my watch to realize the entire day has passed by in the blink of an eye. Scary shit.
Time is the great equalizer. Try your best to get off your phone and live in “the now”. Advice seems trite, and it may be, but after 33 years on earth its the only self help snippet that has been able to make a dent in my psyche.
If you keep scrolling down, i’ve embedded a song called “In May” that I wrote and recorded.. in May. In keeping with the theme, to me, it feels like years ago. I don’t remember recording it but I quite like the anti-solo I was able to lay down in this one.
Now, on to the goods.
This track is called “In May”. You can listen to it on Bandcamp. If you want to purchase the song, great! For every $1 that’s spent I will 10x it and donate it all to my friend Jessica Scarane’s Campaign for Senate in Delaware. Better yet - do the above, and donate to help her unseat a truly ugly monster.
Peace and love!
