Welcome to hell.
William Cody Watson and I have history. Friend. Collaborator. Influence. WCW is an arbiter of taste - books, music, film - the guy sure does know his shit. I have always been interested in tracking whatever he’s on about.
This week, I’m passing WCW the mic. Giving him some room to share the inspiration behind his new work “Snatch Wylden’s Hell”.
Snatch Wylden’s “HELL” is a surreal topography of [the] traumatized psyche and the quest for both self-destruction and self-realization and the pestilential absurdity that lies through it all. Its antipoetry narrative displays what hell is (or can be) and how to get there, through a lens greased by Brackhage, Beksiński, Hooper, Cioran, Fukui, and death metal.
